He went to medical school at St. Mary’s Hospital Medical School. London, UK and qualified in 1991. He
got his Membership of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (MRCOG) in 1997.
He did his training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in
London and got his Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training CCST in 2002. During his training,
he got level Two (Intermediate) MAS certification in
Laparoscopic surgery (RCOG). Dr Maaita trained in
Feto-maternal Medicine in Nottigham, UK with
Professor James and finished his subspecialty training
in 2006 accredited by the RCOG. He obtained the joint RCOG/RCR Diploma in advance obstetrics U/S in
2005. He got his fellowship of the Royal College (FRCOG) in 2009.
Dr Maaita is very active in organizing conferences,
workshops and teaching. He also gives lectures locally
and internationally. Published papers and wrote a chapter on fetal reduction in the book Assisted
Reproductive Techniques, second edition.
Currently Dr Maaita works as a Senior Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist , Head of Department at King Hussein Medical Centre, Amman, Jordan and Clinical Associate Professor, Faculty of Medicine, Jordan University.
He is the Chairman of scientific committee of the Jordanian Board Exam for Obstetrics and Gynaecology since 2016. Chairman of scientific committee of the Society of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Jordan. Member of the committee for Medical Liability, Jordan since 2018 He is also the chairman of the Jordanian British Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologist.
